built to save you time, every day.

— Our story

ORTOMA was founded on a simple belief: small and medium businesses deserve the same powerful tools that large companies use, but without the price tag or complicated setup.

Background

I spent three years at one of the UK’s Big Four banks as a project manager in the mobile technology team. We delivered the communication systems that traders and investment bankers relied on to buy and sell shares quickly and securely. When you're building tools used to support live financial trades, there's no room for error. Every system has to be reliable and tested properly before it ever reaches a real user. That's the standard I learned to work to and it's the standard I still hold ORTOMA to today.

After that, I moved into business development in FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods). Working directly with businesses on the ground, I saw first-hand how much time gets lost to admin, missed calls and manual processes that a bigger company would simply automate away.

Why I built ORTOMA

After trying to reach a local plumber and getting voicemails every time, with no idea if they’d call back, I thought there must be a better way to improve this experience and remove the uncertainty for customers. I started to research the capabilities of AI receptionists and automation online to solve this problem. The more I researched, the clearer it became that small and medium service businesses didn't have easy access to the tools they needed. The technology that let larger companies capture every lead and never miss a call wasn’t out of reach because they were too advanced. It was because no one had made them simple, affordable and easy to set up for a smaller business.

So I used what I’d learned in the mobile industry to built workable systems and applied the same rigorous testing standard: nothing goes live until it's been tested thoroughly and works exactly as it should.

Today, I work with the best tools and partners available to build and configure AI systems tailored to each business. My job is to identify the right combination of tools for your business, get it built properly and keep improving it once it's live.

My approach

One-size-fits-all automation doesn't work. Every business has different customers, processes and goals, so before I build anything, I take the time to understand yours, then put together a system that reflects it.

Every system goes through the same process before it ever reaches your customers: learning about your business, building and configuring the system, testing it thoroughly, then launching and refining it based on how it performs. You can speak to your own personalised AI receptionist before committing to anything, and there's no long-term contract locking you in.

This isn't software you're simply handed to use. It's a partnership. From the first build through to ongoing improvements, I stay closely involved with your results and your goals.
